December Newsletter

Dear Davison Shooting Club and Firesteel Shooting Club Members:

As my 3rd year as your Secretary-Treasurer comes to a close, I want to thank you all for the opportunity to serve you. My term limit is up and cannot be re-elected at this time. If you would like to see the Club “from the ground up” as they say, this is the Board Position to hold. It requires attention to detail, patience, time, and of course, some effort. The rewards are huge, too. You get to work with a great bunch of fellows who want to see more people enjoying the shooting sports as we try to keep the Club available, the costs affordable and have fun doing so. We operate on behalf of you, our members. Let’s face it, gun clubs are becoming fewer, further apart and much more expensive. Because we have such an active group of members who are willing to volunteer their time, we all benefit. Whatever your talent, skill or profession, we’ve got a spot for you.

As always, I hope to see you on the Range or at a meeting.

Sincerely, Valerie M. Potzler, Secretary-Treasurer                                                        November 2012

November Newsletter

Hello Shooters!

Well, folks, Ed and I both missed the Board Meeting. Therefore this Newsletter is a bit tardy. My apologies. However, I am also sending the December Newsletter so that we all can make the December Board Meeting.

We elect our new Board Officers and Member(s) annually on the last Board Mtg of the year for the following calendar year. Come out and cast your vote or run for an Office. If you’ve never seen your Board in action, this is a perfect opportunity to meet with other members. And while you’re here, have a nice hot bowl of Ernie Kreth’s famous chili. It’s a crowd pleaser and feels so good on a cold December evening. We look forward to seeing all of your there. If you’re interested in running for an Office and want to know more, give us a call and we’ll be happy to answer your questions. In December, there will be an Open Range on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm. Gary Kingsbury will be the Range Officer on these evenings.

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE! Thanks to the efforts of Jason Bruhn, the Davison Shooting Club has a website at: www.davisonshootingclub.org. You will be able to see our Newsletter, Calendar and other information. SINCE THE NEWLY ELECTED OFFICERS WILL NOT BE SHOWN IN THE DECEMBER NEWSLETTER, THE INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

October Newsletter

Hello Shooters!

Well, Shooters, pheasant season will soon be upon us. So, if you want to sight-in your rifles you can do so at the outdoor ranges in Woonsocket or Epiphany. HOWEVER, their ranges are CLOSED on their Opening Days One and Two. You may wish to call ahead of time to learn those dates. (They’re not the same dates as ours.)

The Thursday night League (this is not the Postal League) shooting will begin either November or December. For more information about the League, please contact Ernie Kreth.

The Postal League shooting will begin either in December 2012 or January 2013. For more information about the Postal League, please contact Gary Hendrix.

Coming up soon will be the Election of Officers for the DSC/FSC. Your vote matters so please come out to the December Board Meeting (first Tues of the month). Perhaps you would consider running for one of the Offices. We need a President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and a 3-yr Board Member. There are only 12 meeting in a year with a RARE emergency meeting. This is your opportunity to bring your thoughts and ideas to the table. We hope to see you there.
